Apley Farm Shop to host Bake Off event
Building on last year’s success, Apley Farm Shop in Shropshire is hosting another Bake Off event on Sunday 28 May.
The farm shop, which is located near Bridgnorth, will host a range of activities including cake competitions and drop-in baking masterclasses run by local chefs and baking-related businesses.
The seven masterclasses will focus on making organic bread, Indian flat breads, Caribbean banana fritters, English cookies, Shropshire risotto, party canapés, and butterfly cake decoration.
“People learn best by doing which is why I created the masterclasses,” said marketing manager, Lady Harriet Hamilton. “I hope those who have a go will go home with a day full of satisfying experiences.”
There will also be a cookery corner where children can experiment and create dishes with their parents.
“It’s something a bit different,” said Lord Hamilton talking about the event, “and is another way of increasing our customers’ knowledge of food, its provenance and production.”
The event will run between 10am-4pm on Sunday with free admission. The drop-in masterclasses will run all day and cost £1 each, while entries for the cake competitions cost £2.
