Cornish confectionery company Buttermilk gains BRC accreditation
Cornwall’s Buttermilk have achieved British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification, a food safety accreditation that will enable the company to access new markets worldwide.
The BRC certification ensures food and drink producers use reliable processes to reduce risks to consumers. The Bodmin based confectionary company join over 23,000 certified suppliers who operate in 123 countries.
Managing director Tracy McDonnell-Goad commented: “We’ve been working towards for the accreditation since moving in 2015, as it was an important part of unlocking the next phase for Buttermilk. It couldn’t have come at a better time for us, as we are getting manufacturing enquiries as companies look to source in the UK due to the weak pound.”
