Cornish vineyard cleans up at annual wine competition
Cornwall’s Camel Valley Vineyard won a trophy for their sparkling rosé and a record four gold medals in the 2016 South West Wine Annual Competition awards.
150 wines from across the southwest were blind tasted by a panel of judges that included masters of wine, international wine judges and senior trade experts.
The Bodmin based winery has been family run since 1989. Bob Lindo, Camel Winery’s managing director told FFD, “Winning the Sparkling Rosé Trophy and four gold medals was just amazing. I was especially pleased that two of our gold medals came from grapes grown entirely on our original two vineyards planted in 1989.”
The awards took Camel Winery’s haul for 2016 in accredited competitions to 2 trophies, 9 gold and 12 silver medals.
