The day-long event (9:30am – 4:30pm), called Towards a Greener Future, will be held in Bracknell and will feature a number of key industry speakers including Tracy Hamilton from Mash Direct and Andrew Mullins from Bord Bia.

The conference will also cover topics such as biodegradable packaging, CO2 reduction and creating a simpler supply chain.

In 2015, Cotswold Fayre became a B Corporation; a certification which recognises businesses meeting the highest standards of verified social and environment performance.

It is currently the only B Corp wholesaler in the UK.

“Running a profitable business, that is also good for the planet, is increasingly becoming an important and sometimes deal-breaking factor,” said founder and CEO Paul Hargreaves. “Brands that thoroughly embrace green values will be the driving force in the food and drink sector’s growth over the next few years.”

He added: “We are committed to minimising the impact on the environment. For example we are no longer taking on new soft drinks suppliers who sell in plastic bottles.”

Earlier this year Hargreaves published Forces for Good, a book offering practical advice based on his experiences in the industry, while also including insight from some of the UK’s leading ethical companies such as Cook, Divine and Ella’s Kitchen.

Hargreaves said: “My motivation for writing the book was to inspire and help ordinary people in business, who want to achieve something extraordinary.”

“If just one business changes their modus operandi as a result of an employee or director reading this book, then I would consider the many 100s of hours spent writing Forces for Good worthwhile,” he added.
