Cottage Delight launches “tongue-in-cheek” election-themed beer

With the General Election looming, Cottage Delight owner Nigel Cope has launched a new politically themed beer made by the Staffordshire Brewery.
Cope, who is also a director at the Leek-based brewery, came up with the idea for the “tongue-in-cheek” Bull**** beer as a result of the media fuss over televised leaders’ debates.
The light, hoppy beer (500ml, RRP £2.95) has an aromatic floral aroma as a result of lager and wheat malts with a helping of Goldings and Cascade hops.
Since he founded Cottage Delight in 1974, Cope has experienced 10 General Elections.
“In 2015, nothing has really altered – it’s all the same old promises thrown about every five years and this year won’t really be any different in my opinion,” he said.
“I figured that the general public will need a refreshing beer or two after listening to David Cameron, Ed Milliband and Nick Clegg fighting it out in the political boxing ring.”
