The Courtyard Dairy and Capreolus in running for BBC awards
Dorset charcutier Capreolus Fine Foods and Yorkshire cheesemonger The Courtyard Dairy are among those in the running for BBC Food & Farming Awards this year.
BBC Radio 4 announced the shortlists today in 10 categories, including Best Food Producer, which will see Capreolus contend the title with Abernethy Butter from Co Down and Scottich smokery Gigha Halibut.
The nominees for Best Food Retailer are Veasey Fishmonger in East Sussex, Wirral butcher Edge & Son, and The Courtyard Dairy in Settle North Yorkshire (pictured), which won the Le Gruyère AOP-sponsored Britain’s Best Cheese Counter and Britain’s Best Cheesemonger titles at last year’s World Cheese Awards.
Breweries Thornbridge and BrewDog and Kent-based winery Gusbourne Estate will contest Best Drink Producer while The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Co, which also has a retail range, is among the shortlisted business in the Best Street Food category.
The winners of each category will be announced in May. For a full list of nominees visit the awards’ websitehere
