Cranstons upgrades Brampton shop to open third food hall
Cranstons has opened a new food hall in Brampton, after relocating its traditional butchers’ shop in the Cumbrian town to a former bank located across the street.
The new food hall, which opened on February 15, has doubled the footprint of the previous shop to 2,000 sq ft, allowing its ambient offering to grow substantially, managing director Philip Cranston told FFD.
The ground floor banking hall, offices and safe of the Grade II-listed building have been knocked together to create a split level shop floor with the butchery and ambient goods at one elevation and a ramp and steps leading to the deli area beyond.
The deli and ambient area comprises shelving and carries around 1,800 of the company’s most popular lines, primarily from suppliers who already supply Cranstons’ flagship Cumbrian Food Hall and Orton Grange Food Hall. It also includes a 6ft aisle dedicated to wine and local ales.
