Irish deli creates Game of Thrones-inspired banquet box
Fans of Game of Thrones will be pleased to hear that a deli in Northern Ireland has created a banquet box inspired by the successful TV series.
Independent retailer Indie Fude, based in Comber, county Down, developed the Winter Feast box to showcase 10 products from regional artisan producers and celebrate the success of the show which was filmed at various locations around the country.
“We’ve scoured Northern Ireland, the home of Game of Thrones, for the best banquet foods it has to offer,” said owner Johnny McDowell. “It’s ideal for both local people and tourists and has already been attracting inquiries from outside Northern Ireland.”
Retailing at £99.95, the products come in a hand-carved wooden box with names inspired by the series including: Dothraki Cakes (fig & walnut oatcakes by Deli Muru), Sansa’s Gold (truffle oil by Broighter Gold Rapeseed Oil), and a centrepiece chocolate Dorne Dragon’s Egg (La Coquine, Combe, county Down).
It will also include a limited-edition Winter Feast banquet cloth made from Irish linen by Jupiter Red in Belfast, said McDowell.
