Entries for Great Taste 2014 open in February

GT-supreme-WEBNow in its 20th year the Great Taste food and drink awards will open for entries on Monday February 24.

This year will see the total number of entries capped at 10,000 as well as the introduction of an early entry period open exclusively to members of organiser the Guild of Fine Food.

Provided they apply between February 10 and 23, Guild members will be able to enter at the same price as last year and ahead of non-members. General entry will run from February 24 until March 21.

“We have also introduced more specific classes for wines and spirits to take into account the growing number of producers who have approached Great Taste in the last year,” said Guild MD John Farrand. “Great Taste classes range from truffles to chutney, porridge to single estate tea and we’re confident that our judges will find the most exceptional food and drink to carry the Great Taste stars.”

The announcement of the Supreme Champion 2014, sponsored by Harrods and won last year by Marybelle Dairy, will be made on  September 8.
