Fine Cheese Co adds new cheddars to waxed range
Artisan cheese wholesaler The Fine Cheese Co. has announced that it will be adding two new Cheddars to its waxed collection this Autumn.
The ewes’ milk Cheddar and oak-smoked Cheddar will join the company’s full-flavoured Cheddar and nutty goats’ milk Cheddar, creating a range of four Cheddars made from three different milks.
Hand-made in Dorset, the ewes’ milk Cheddar is described as having a “texture that’s firm, but will melt in the mouth”. The company also says the use of ewes’ milk gives the cheese an aromatic flavour which is balanced with a long, complex finish.
The oak-smoked Cheddar is made using the traditional method of stacking the curds by hand, with the finishes cold smoked over real oak chips.
Both cheeses weigh in at 200g each with an RRP of £3.99 for the oak-smoked Cheddar and £5.99 for the ewes’ milk Cheddar.
