Gran Stead’s boosts range and unveils new branding

Gran Stead’s has rebranded its whole range and added a blackcurrant drink to the line-up as it looks to increase its share of the growing adult soft drinks market.

The Sussex-based firm is pitching its new Blackcurrant with Zing (750ml, RRP £2.25), which is made with blackcurrant juice and ginger, as a “sure-fire hit” for Halloween sales.

The new addition is based on a 19th Century recipe that can be traced back to Christina ‘Gran’ Stead, whose 150-year-old ginger wine recipe inspired the producer’s first drink.

Now the company, which is forecasting a 15% sales increase in 2013, has given the Gran Stead on all of its labels a revamp as it looks to attract health-conscious consumers.

The firm said it has seen rising demand for its ginger drinks both at home and abroad. It currently exports to retailers in Estonia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Belarus.

The range comprises Gran Stead’s Mellow Ginger (formerly Dark & Mellow Ginger Wine), Gran Stead’s Fiery Reduced Sugar Ginger Drink (formerly Light & Fiery Ginger Wine), Traditional Still Lemonade and Still Lemonade with a Zing.

The ginger wines and lemonades have an RRP of £4.25and £2.25 respectively for 750ml bottles.
