Great Taste Market on the bill at the ‘Glastonbury for Chefs’
A host of award-winning food, including cheese, charcuterie and preserves, will be coming to Laverstoke Park Farm in September with a new Great Taste Market at the Universal Cookery & Food Festival, often dubbed the ‘Glastonbury for Chefs’.
Now in its fifth year, the chef-focused festival is making its debut at the Hampshire biodynamic farm, which is owned by ex-Formula 1 driver Jody Sheckter, on Tuesday September 20.
As well as touring the farm and embarking on foraging sessions, visiting chefs will also be able to discover new cooking techniques and listen to talks from a host of speakers, including Claude Bosi, Will Torrent, Daniel Clifford and Angela Hartnett.
Over the course of the day, a range of topics will be covered on the stage, such as organic and ethical food, French cooking and pastry chefs.
Delegates will also be able to sample a range of Great Taste-winning food from producers, including The Art of Curry, Tracklements and Pump Street Bakery, in the market area.
Among the other companies showcasing their wares will be Cryer & Stott Cheesemongers, Owtons butchers and Taste Distribution while there will be charcuterie on offer at Woodall’s stand and a host of Spanish delicacies from Bellota.
There will also be flour from Gilchesters Organics, fresh produce from Tendring Fruit and some unique spice drops from Holy Lama Naturals.
