The independent trade needs a forum to exchange ideas, lobby government and generate ideas to nurture and improve those who make, and those who sell, worthy food & drink.

To tackle this, the Guild is launching a ‘Town Hall’ initiative. A place to share, encourage, and develop ideas and opinion that will help shape independent retail.

How will it work?

  • With a rotating committee at its core, representing a cross-section of independent food and drink, the Town hall will meet four times a year (three online and one in person)
  • Guild of Fine Food members will also be invited to join online meetings to contribute to relevant topics
  • A collective agenda will help us to establish action points and a to-do list to help the entire sector

How can you get involved?

As a committee representative: To ensure we have a broad cross-industry representation, we are inviting applications from any Guild member to be on the Town Hall committee. We are looking for a rotating committee to represent retailers, wholesalers and producers as well as have a representative of business size, activity, local communities, and regional spread.

We’re looking for around 20 committee members to serve for two years who can commit to three meetings online plus an in-person networking event per year, and are prepared to speak out and respond to relevant issues.
