Lyme Bay Winery toasts BRC certification
Lyme Bay Winery has received a Grade A certification from BRC Global Standards for its premises in Shute near Axminster, Devon, making it the only English wine producer to hold the seal of approval.
The certification – which is used by over 25,000 food suppliers in more than 130 countries – aims to demonstrate exceptional standards in areas such as food, packaging, distribution and retail products.
Production manager at Lyme Bay Winery, Michael Heighway oversaw the BRC implementation.
He said: “Holding BRC accreditation gives us confidence in our ability to produce goods of the highest quality and means, even more importantly, that we can pass that assurance on to our customers who can now see the standard we are working to.”
Managing director, James Lambert added: “What we need to do now is push for producers to match the increased commerciality of the produce, with an increased focus on quality standards.”
