Pork Farms targets speciality trade with new Scotch egg brand
Pie and sausage roll manufacturer Pork Farms is hoping to break into the deli and farm shop market with a range of runny centred Scotch eggs launched under its Dorset Food Company brand.
The firm’s Scrummy Eggs, which are produced and hand-finished at the manufacturer’s site in Shaftesbury, come in three flavours: classic, spicy chorizo and honey roast gammon. Twin packs of each variety have an RRP of £4.95.
The Dorset Food Company said that each Scotch egg, which can be warmed in the oven before serving, is guaranteed to have a runny centre thanks to a “unique and highly specialised process”.
North West chain Booths is among the firm’s current stockists.
