Speciality Producer of the Year is presented to Uig Lodge Smoked Salmon
The Great Taste Speciality Producer of the Year Award has been presented to Uig Lodge of Uig, Stornaway on the Isle of Lewis at the Great Taste Golden Forks Dinner in London on September 8th, where over 300 guests from the world of fine food gathered.
“Since 2007, Uig Lodge has entered Great Taste and every year, up to and including this year, Uig has been successful in winning Great Taste stars for its products. This level of consistency deserves to be recognised and we are thrilled to present the dedicated team at Uig Lodge with the Speciality Producer of the Year Award. This not only recognises great achievement within Great Taste but it is a signal to the wider world of fine food that Uig Lodge is amongst the best artisan producers in the country,” said John Farrand, MD of the Guild of Fine Food, organisers of Great Taste.
This year Uig Lodge received a Great Taste 3-star award for its Smoked Salmon which was described by judges as “Lingering length from the smoke which has been done very carefully. A glorious salmon to look at and to taste, moist and melting in the mouth with a perfect balance of sweet, smoke and ocean flavours”.
