The 2014 World Cheese Awards, the largest gathering of cheeses under one roof, is taking place at BBC Good Food Show, London Olympia from 14 – 16 November.

In a magnificent theatre dedicated to the art of cheese making, over 2500 cheeses will be judged by 250 experts from around the world, making this the largest and most comprehensive cheese competition offering a chance for visitors to see and taste the finest examples of cheese making skill in the world.

“There are many regional cheese award competitions but the World Cheese Awards is all about cheese, not yoghurt, cream or milk, just cheese in all its magnificence,” explained John Farrand, MD of the Guild of Fine Food, organisers of the World Cheese Awards.

“This year in London we’re aiming for the UK’s biggest and most cosmopolitan cheese festival as part of the BBC Good Food Show. 30,000 visitors are expected to visit the show, and everyone will be able to ‘nose’ their way to the World Cheese Awards area and view the whole magnificent homage to cheese,” said John.

There will be tickets for cheese tours with BBC Radio 2’s Nigel Barden where visitors will be able to learn about cheese from across Europe and then get nuggets of information from Charlie Turnbull and John Farrand – both experts in matching cheese with beer, cider and wine.

The main World Cheese Awards judging will take place on Friday, 14 November.
