SCA invites applications for £1,000 cheese-maker bursary

Both aspiring and existing cheese-makers are being encouraged to submit entries for a bursary of £1,000 from the Specialist Cheesemakers Association.

Entrants need not necessarily be members of the SCA to apply for the Dougal Campbell Award, named after the Welsh organic cheese pioneer and SCA founder member.

The SCA said it is keen to receive applications from young entrants and from existing milk producers that are seeking to expand into specialist cheese-making. The submission deadline is Friday February 26.

Applicants should email completed entry forms to sian.oliver-gay@provtrade.co.uk or they can post them to: Specialist Cheesemakers Association, 17 Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R 0DP

Once the entries have been assessed by the SCA’s expert panel, the winner will be announced during March 2016.
