SCA invites applications for £1,000 cheese-maker bursary
Both aspiring and existing cheese-makers are being encouraged to submit entries for a bursary of £1,000 from the Specialist Cheesemakers Association.
Entrants need not necessarily be members of the SCA to apply for the Dougal Campbell Award, named after the Welsh organic cheese pioneer and SCA founder member.
The SCA said it is keen to receive applications from young entrants and from existing milk producers that are seeking to expand into specialist cheese-making. The submission deadline is Friday February 26.
As well as the £1,000, the winner will also receive support from the SCA, including a complimentary ticket & sponsored accommodation for the SCA farm visit, presentation of their work at the farm visit (optional) and coverage in the SCA Quarterly Newsletter
Once the entries have been assessed by the SCA’s expert panel, the winner will be announced during March 2016.
