Simply Good Food TV launch Nigel Barden show on Amazon Prime Video
Simply Good Food TV, the consumer app for food content, has partnered with Amazon Prime Video to launch a drive-time TV series.
The new series ‘Drivetime Dishes’, airing on Sunday 2ndSeptember, will be hosted by food broadcaster Nigel Barden, known for his culinary contribution on Simon Mayo’s Drivetime show on BBC Radio 2.
The show will run for an initial six weeks with Barden showcasing a range of food & drink from artisan producers, while trialling recipes from the latest cookbooks.
By airing on Amazon Prime Video, the business says Drivetime Dishes has the potential to be seen in more than 200 countries worldwide and help the business achieve a forecasted growth to over 1 million subscribers within the next 6 months.
“The UK Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) market is exploding,” said Peter Sidwell, TV chef and creator of Simply Good Food TV.
“Just as consumers are choosing to shop online, they are now also opting to access programming, including food related content – via the internet, at a time that suits them.”
He added: “This move will enable Simply Good Food TV to extend the reach of its unique programming to a wider global audience, representing an excellent proposition to any brands already aligned with our product.”
The programmes will later air on Simply Good Food TV making them accessible to the App’s subscribers which number over 550,000.
