Soil Association re-launches organic awards
The Soil Association has unveiled a new look and new format for its annual organic food awards, which are now open for entry to producers, retailers and suppliers.
The BOOM (Best of Organic Market) Awards will see a range of product categories – covering fresh, ambient and frozen foods – as well as retail and foodservice categories judged by an independent panel of experts.
There will also be a several personality categories, including Best Blogger, and a consumer choice award open for nominations from the public.
Judging takes place in March in London with with a number of chefs, writers and retailers already signed up and the awards ceremony will be held on May 11.
Anna Jones, chef, cookery writer and a graduate of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Foundation, is this year’s celebrity ambassador.
“With over 1,000 new products licensed with Soil Association Certification in 2015 we know that there is fantastic innovation going on in the organic sector, said Soil Association Certification business development director Clare McDermott. “Coupled with a panel of expert judges and the amazing Anna Jones, this year’s BOOM Awards are naturally worth shouting about.”
