St Andrews’ Guid Cheese Shop up for sale
The Guid Cheese Shop in St Andrews is up for sale as a going concern after its owner, World Cheese Awards supreme judge Svetlana Kukharchuk, decided to relocate from the Scottish town.
The 34 sq m shop, which was set up in December 2010 and took third place in last year’s Britain’s Best Cheese Counter competition, has an annual turnover of £98,000 and an on-premises alcohol licence.
The £20,000 asking price for the shop covers all of the current equipment, including two serve-overs, a multi-deck fridge, a storage fridge, one set of scales and “extensive” shelving.
It currently stocks a wide selection of artisan and farmhouse cheeses from across Britain, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and Holland, as well as accompaniments including crackers, oatcakes, chutneys, jams, honeys, cheese accessories, wines and beers.
