The Seed Fund reveals final five
Food start-up mentoring scheme The Seed Fund Academy has announced the five final companies left in the running to win the philanthropic project’s annual prize.
The five finalists are sparkling tea producer Green Lady, bar snack company Made for drink, rum specialist Rathlee Distilling Co, Dorset Sea Salt and free-from producer Norty Puds.
Shortlisted from 12 companies that were chosen from over 200 applications, the finalists have undergone a programme of seminars, workshops and one-on-one sessions this summer.
The sessions have covered everything from approaching retail and raising investment to marketing, PR and social media.
They will now all make one final pitch to The Seed Fund’s panel of experts for the chance to win a full year of tailored business support – estimated to be worth over £100,000.
“It’s been such a joy to watch them [the finalists] develop throughout the Academy sessions, both through the guidance of our mentors and by sharing ideas and challenges throughout the process,” said founder and owner of The Seed Fund and The Collaborators Jayne Noblet.
“I’m confident that they now have the tools, knowledge and network required to make the leap from start-up to serious player.”
The Seed Fund Academy Champion will be announced on Sunday 2nd September during the Great Taste Golden Fork Dinner held at the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel, London.
