Ex head-chef at The Newt in Somerset Ben Champkin has taken on the kitchen at Teals – not far down the road.
The chef has worked in acclaimed restaurants around the world, including Simon Rogan’s L’Enclume in Cumbria, and three Michelin-starred The Restaurant Meadowood in California.
Champkin said the farm shop’s restaurant is “an incredible showcase of the very best of Somerset”, and that, his menu would reflect this. His autumn dishes include rainbow chard with torn Buffalicious mozzarella; and wood-fired kuri squash, butterbeans & sage gremolata.
