Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe is famous for 3 things: John Dickinson who opened his bakery in 1851 where Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe still remains today. Mary Dickinson, Grandmother of John, is credited with creating the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie that we know and love today, by using a wooden dolly to hand-raise the pastry. This iconic grade two listed building is the home of Melton Mowbray Pork Pies: Dickinson & Morris, Mrs Kings and Walker's as well as other sweet & savoury pastry treats.
