Ten Hides is a small artisan distillery on the banks of the River Avon running through the historic market town of Melksham in Wiltshire, where a unique range of award-winning gins, rum – and currently maturing whisky - is hand-crafted. All undoubtedly English – with a West Country character. Taking inspiration from the rolling chalk uplands of nearby Salisbury Plain, the choice of botanicals and premium grains echoes this love of the surrounding scenic Wiltshire countryside.
Our Orange Gin was originally created as a limited edition for Christmas 2024. Blending our dry Wiltshire Gin with a unique mix of botanicals including orange blossom, mandarin, sweet orange peel, kaffir lime and kumquat – as well as cinnamon bark, nutmeg and angelica – gives fruit on the nose followed by rich citrus flavours and a touch of spice to finish. All the evocative scents and tastes of Christmas in one bottle.
But it now has become an all-year-round winner. While served with tonic and slice of clementine or tangerine, it made a wonderful Wiltshire winter warmer, fans of this surprising combination of sweet and bitter citrus flavours are now drinking it long with bitter lemon, ice and a slice of orange for a refreshing summer St Clements with ‘attitude’ - thanks to its subtle gin base.
